Dale Rayburn (b. 1942, Mississippi) is known for his expressive monotypes and etchings that capture the character and complexity of Southern life. His work often features solitary figures rendered with rich texture and emotional depth, drawing influence from Rembrandt, Thomas Eakins, and Edward Hopper. Rayburn earned his MFA from the University of Mississippi and taught at several institutions including LSU and Dekalb College. His pieces are held in major collections such as the Yale University Art Gallery and the New Orleans Museum of Art
