Larry Anderson (1943–2019) was a beloved Iowa painter whose career spanned over five decades. Based in Des Moines, he began painting in the 1960s and became known for his western themes, wildlife portraits, and nostalgic Americana. His deep appreciation for nature and outdoor life came alive through expressive brushwork and storytelling compositions. Anderson operated his own gallery and custom framing shop, participated in national art shows, and released over 1,000 limited-edition prints. He was also a passionate conservationist, using his art to celebrate and preserve the beauty of the natural world
