Bay Area Baseball
Serigraph on paper, 28” x 36”
Signed and numbered by LeRoy Neiman
A vivid celebration of America’s pastime, Bay Area Baseball captures the electric energy of batting practice in San Francisco. Neiman’s signature style—bold color, dynamic brushwork, and rhythmic composition—transforms a familiar sports ritual into a visual symphony of motion and anticipation. The scene pulses with life: players in mid-swing, coaches observing, and the stadium glowing in saturated reds and greens. It’s not just a game—it’s a moment suspended in color.
LeRoy Neiman (1921–2012) was one of the most recognizable American artists of the 20th century, known for his exuberant depictions of sports, music, and leisure. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Neiman studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and taught there before launching a prolific career in New York. His work appeared in Playboy, on Olympic posters, and in countless galleries, always celebrating the spectacle of human performance. Neiman’s art is both documentary and dreamlike—an ode to movement, fame, and the thrill of the moment.
